T. Vines William Thomas Vines, 88, of 9 North Avenue, died in the Newnan Hospital Saturday, May 21. A retired textile worker, he was a native of Carroll County, where he was born April 1, 1878. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Waters Vines, Newnan; four daughters, Mrs. J. H. McCarty, Mrs. Olin Borders, both of Newnan, Mrs. Herschel Chase, Milledgeville, Mrs. Maggie Phillips, Grantville; son, Herman Vines, Griffin; sister-in-law, Mrs. Jim Vines, Carrollton; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon from the graveside in Oak Hill Cemetery, the Rev. Willie Joe Loftin and the Rev. Willard Dean officiating. Pallbearers were Raymond Watts, Donald McCarty, Larry White, Gerald Joiner, Roy Wimpy and Melvin Arrington.
