  DEATH: "OBITUARY"; Printed Decatur Daily May 23, 2008 Mary Jean Curnutt Allen Grissom Decatur Funeral for Mary Jean Curnutt Allen Grissom, 77, of Decatur will be today, May 23, 2008, at 3:30 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alton Downs officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Mrs. Grissom, who died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at her residence, was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Limestone County to William and Alcy Byrd Curnutt Sr. She retired from Prestolite after 13 years of service and also retired as the owner of Quick Stitch. She loved painting flowers, sewing, was on the Bowling League, loved cooking, reading and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Thomas Allen; one brother, Harold Wayne Curnutt; and one sister, Ruth Waters. Survivors include one son, Tommy Lee Allen of Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Boutwell of Decatur; two brothers, William Donald Curnutt Jr. and Walter Newman Curnutt, both of Athens; three sisters, Pat Moore of Florence and Janet Curnett and Janice Gooch, both of Athens; five grandchildren, Richard Ray Boutwell, Christie Leshea Boutwell and Joseph Patrick Boutwell, all of Decatur, Thomas Brent Allen of Cullman and Sharona Smith of Decatur; and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Duane Evans, Dean Curnutt, Earnie Slayton, Chad Bryant, Matt Bryant, Jeremy Evans, Lonnie Gene Boutwell and Greg Curnutt. Honorary pallbearers will be Ollie Beason and Ted Wilhite. Published in the Decatur Daily on 5/23/2008.
