a. Note:   Sources: Martha Ellen Cash Waters and John Robert Cash show on the 1900 census for Lawrence County, Alabama that they had 8 of 12 children living at the time of the census. Based on the time they came to Alabama from Georgia, these children were probably born in Carroll County, Georgia and died there. This census is the only known record of their existance.

Waters is dead and also another one died on the morning of the 24th. The two little ones now lay side by side in New Lebanon Cemetery, while their little souls are at rest in heaven. Weep not Father, weep not Mother, Your little ones are gone to rest. To a home where all is welcome, To a home where all is blessed. Same page: Striplings Chapel Mr. John R. Waters of Lowell District has had the sad misfortune of losing recently two of his children. The first was buried last Saturday at New Lebanon Church.
