Notes
a. Note:   BURIAL: "MOUNT OLIVE CEMETARY LISTINGS" - Winston Co., AL From Addison, Al., go west on Hwy 278 to county road 63. Turn right and go through Moreland and Grayson, Al. The cemetery is on the right after the Church of the Forest. WATERS, Jesse Eugene son of W. J. & M. E. Waters 7/11/1907 - 3/8/1908
BURIAL: Jean Melson Reed, daughter of Nettie Ellen Waters Melson (Jesse Eugene was Nettie's brother), related how the tombstone marking Jesse's grave came to be placed. When Nettie's son James Raiphord Melson died in May 1971, the government issued him a tombstone as he died while in military service. His wife wanted to purchase him a marker, so Nettie had the original stone engraved with Jesse Eugene's name and birth and death dates. She and one of her sons placed this stone on Jesse's grave. Before this, Jessie's grave was unmarked. Without this, family members who knew where he was buried were aging and passing away, and his grave would have been lost with no knowledge of it's location. (August 2002)
DEATH: Jesse died of the "Blue Croup" (Jean Waters Reed 9/2010). I am assuming it was croup, he ckoked and turned blue. Ergo the name.
