Note:   DEATH: "OBITUARY"; Decatur Daily; Published 2 - 12 - 2008 Waters, Charlene Opal Trinity Funeral for Charlene Opal Waters, 73, of Trinity will be Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Waldrop and the Rev. Alan Compton officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Waters, who died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Lawrence Medical Center, was born Feb. 19, 1934, in Lawrence County to Allie Mae and Ernest Gist. She was a member of Conway Baptist Church and attended Mount View Baptist Church. She was a retired Head Start teacher. Mrs. Waters was proud of her Head Start career and enjoyed her monthly "Lunch Bunch." Survivors include her husband, Verbon Waters; two sons, Wesley Waters and his wife, Donna, of Trinity and David Waters and his wife, Jennifer, of Montgomery; two daughters, Janet Howard and her husband, John, of Decatur and Dale Kirch and her husband, Ray, of Huntsville; brother, Billy Gist of Priceville. She was grandmother to Nolan and Nathan Waters of Montgomery and "Nana" to Cassie Kaylee Shinall of Speake and Bridgette Burney Palmer and her son, Gavin. Pallbearers will be Heath Waters, Corey Taylor, Steven Shinall, Cliff Burney, John Palmer, Michael Waters and Jeff Waters
