  DEATH: "OBITUARY"; Decatur Daily; Published April 25, 2003 James Joseph "Joe" Darnell Funeral for James Joseph �Joe� Darnell, 72, of Trinity will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Conway Baptist Church with Evan Bowling, Phillip Russell and Mike Smith officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Mr. Darnell died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at his home. He was born Nov. 23, 1930, in Lawrence County to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Darnell. He was a retired contractor. Mr. Darnell received the Purple Heart from the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Faye Nell Darnell; three sons, Roger Darnell, Robbie Darnell and Ricky Darnell; one daughter, Rochelle Ranes; two brothers, three sisters; and seven grandchildren.
