Note: Professions: Retired from ALABAMA STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT Military: Served in the US ARMY BURIAL: "OBITUARY"; The Decatur Daily; September 23, 2004 Hill, Curtis Eugene Funeral for Curtis Eugene Hill, 71, of Trinity will be today, Sept. 23, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie Delashaw officiating.Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hill died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at his residence. He was born Aug. 19, 1933, in Lawrence County to Vonnie Stephen Hill and Ella A. Hitt Hill. He retired from the Alabama State Highway Department as a project engineer after 41 years of service working in Lawrence, Morgan, Madison and Lauderdale counties. He served in the Korean War from June 1952 to 1954. Mr. Hill graduated from Lawrence County High School in May 1952. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Waters Hill; three sons, Stephen Eugene and his wife Maria of Trinity, Stanley Renay and his wife Anita of Falkville, and Shannon Lee and his wife Terri of Athens; one daughter, Rebecca Ann Britton and her husband Pete of Decatur; six brothers, Clifton Hill, Ray Hill, Jimmy Hill, Jerry Hill, Clyde Hill and Roger Hill; three sisters, Margorie Hill, Marie Kent and Marvolene Dacus; and nine grandchildren, Bryan Johnson, Nikki Johnson, Kelly Stephens, Briar Hill, Brady Hill, Zach Johnson, Whitlee Flannigan, Kaelyn Stephens and Bradley Stewart. Pallbearers will be Clifton Hill, Ray Hill, Jimmy Hill, Jerry Hill, Clyde Hill and Roger Hill.Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.
