a. Note:   Mrs. Catharine K. Walter Dies at the age of Eighty Six
  Mrs. Catharine K. Walter died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Hart, in Louisville, Ky., Tuesday night, March 16, 1909, aged eighty-six years, ten months and three days, after an illness of about six months from softening of the brain. The body was brought to this county for burial last Thursday. Funeral services were held at Pfrimmer's Chapel about noon, conducted by Rev.A. M. Irvine, pastor of Presbyterian church and Rev. A. B. Condo, pastor of the U. B. church, of this place, and the interment was in the church cemetery, nearby. The deceased was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but her parents came north when she was quite young and lived in Louisville and in Floyd County, Indiana. She was married to John Walter sixty-eight years ago, and was the mother of 15 children, eleven of whom survive her, seven daughters and four sons. They are John and Louis Walter, of this county, Mrs. Caroline Dahl, Mrs. Casper Zeiler and Mrs. William Hart of Louisville, Henry Walter and Mrs. John Stellar, of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. George McRae, Mrs. Walter Bence and Jacob Walter, of Nebraska, and Mrs. Andrew Baker, of Britt, Iowa. She also left fifty grand children and thirty great grand children. The most of her life was spent in this county on a farm two miles east of Corydon which was entered by her husband. Mrs. Walter united with the Lutheran church in her girlhood and remained a consistent member until death. She was a devoted Christian woman and was loved and esteemed by all who knew her. copied from the Corydon Democrat
