a. Note:   Thomas Kell and family moved from Sequatchie Valley to Warren County, locating near McMinnville, where he and his wife died, they are buried in Kell Cemetery near Leesburg.
  They were devout members of the Baptist Church and most highly respected people. Thomas was a successful farmer and a Whig in politics. Although very young volunteered to assist his country in the war of 1812, and was in the battle of New Orleans but soon afterward was discharged by General Jackson on account of his youth.
