Note: July 20, 2004 Obituaries for July 20, 2004 LAS VEGAS SUN William Quinlin William Quinlin, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Perry County, Ind. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired administrator for the medical clinic at the Nevada Test Site for 20 years and a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran. He is survived by three sons, Jerry Quinlin of San Diego, Thomas Quinlin of Edmond, Okla., and Michael Quinlin of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be noon Thursday in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. LAS VEGAS - William Edmund Quinlin, 83, died Sunday, July 18, 2004, at his home in Las Vegas. Born near St. Croix Sept. 19,1920, he was the son of the late Leroy and Loretta Quinlin. He joined the U.S. Navy soon after Dec. 7, 1941, and retired 20 years later. During that time he married the former Joan Handly. He moved his family to Nevada where he worked at the atomic testing grounds 20 years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; a son, James; his parents; two sisters, Nola Virginia in infancy and Florence Laurent; and a brother, Leonard Quinlin. Surviving are three sons, Jerry, Tom and Michael Quinlin; two brothers, Marion of Greenfield and Paul of Schertz, Texas; six sisters, Dorothy Reas and Hilda Hudson of Indianapolis, Lucille Lawson of New Albany, Eleanor Whitley of San Antonio, Texas, and Lorene Howerton and Theresa Miles of Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Services were held at noon Thursday, July 22, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Las Vegas. Palm Mortuary of Las Vegas was in charge of arrangements
