Note: John was a weaver in Kirkinch of Nevay. On John's tombstone - shield with loom, shuttle and weaver's tools; also initials I D [son John Doig] and A B [daughter-in-law Agnes Brown]. Note: More children were probably born between 1738 and 1749. A probable brother is William Doig, brewer in Kirkinch of Nevay on file WILL1711. ------------------------------------------------------------- Some References used in this Family History: England -----, 1861 English Census, Cheshire, Birkenhead - William Doig. -----, 1861 English Census, Lancashire, Liverpool - John Doig. -----, 1881 English Census, Cheshire, Monks Coppenhall - Thomas W.
