Notes
a. Note:   Andrew Broden, father of Anna Albertina, came from Bollnas, Sweden and emigrated to Chicago. Anna Edling, mother of Anna Albertina, came from Alfta. Henry's parents both came from Alfta and emigrated to Chicago, Illinois. It is very possible that they all knew each other or the families did while prior to emigrating from Sweden to America. After emigrating to Chicago, both families moved to the Kansas areas of Belleville, Clay Center, Wayne Village (all in Republic County, Kansas).
Wayne Journal, 31 Dec 1909: Henry Englund and family spent Christmas In Clay Center with Mrs. Englund's mother, Mrs. A. Brodeen. Mr. Englund returned Saturday evening and the rest of the family will remain several days with relatives. (KS Historical Society, Kansas Collection, Microfilm W 2704)
Wayne Journal, 11 Mar 1910: John Brodeen and wife of Clay Center, came up this week to visit a few days with his sister, Mrs. Henry Englund and family. (Author's Note: This is the Mrs. Broden who was Donald Broden's mother. Donald was adopted by Henry and Albertina Englund when his mother died. John Broden later lived in the Kansas City area, but relations between John and his son, Donald, had dissipated.) (KS Historical Society, Kansas Collection, Microfilm W 2704)
