Note: Ann Carolyn Englund came from Wayne, KS after graduation from high school to attend nurses training at Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. It was there that she met and later married Earl Downey. During WWII, Ann was a nurse at the North American Bomber Plant and then worked with the Visiting Nurses Association. She was later the operating nurse for Dr. Emmerick Shulte and was in attendance at the birth of her adopted daughter, Patricia Ann Benison.
