 Robert known as ( BUD ), was born in Kyle, Texas,
 he was a cowboy and rancher with his father in Texas and Oklahoma,
 a wheat harvester in Nebraska,
 a butcher owning a meat market,
 a farmer,
 then a sheet metal worker/ pipe fitter with Southern Pacific Railroad.
 After retirement, he worked several years as asecurity guard.
 He was a Sergeant and a machine gunner in the Rainbow Division in W W 1,
 he was wounded twice and awarded the distinguished Service Cross and a Purple Heart.
 He was an avid baseball fan, hunter and story teller.
 He was affable, well liked, and never met a stranger
 Robert ( BUD ) was 15 years older than his wife Alma. After he returned from
 W W 1, Alma saw him ride by on a horse, smiled at him, then told her sisters that he was the man she would marry. Next day he stopped by to borrow an aspirin for his alleged headache, and the romance blossomed.
 On December 8th 1922, they were married in Bay City, Texas
