Note: Fil was a gifted cook*, homemaker, mother and grandmother (and sister-in-law). She was a generous friend and wise counselor, with a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh.
*Her son Richard says she was a "top-of -the-stove cook." Soups, sauces and sautes probably were her forte, but in my experience she knew how to cook everything better than anyone else I knew at the time.
