Note: Travelled first by himself to Costa Rica, leaving wife and children in Makow. For two years worked very hard as an ambulant salesman to save enough money to bring the family. Didn't want to bring his 4 Beis Yaakov daughters to Costa Rica, a place without any Yiddishkeit. Thought it was better to leave the family in a farm in Poland. His wife Chava hated Poland. Her brothers in the USA sent her visas (when she was married already) but there was no money for the trip. He gathered all the children (prophesu today found in children) and they all remembered the postcard he had sent of Costa Rica, so unanimously they chose to go to Costa Rica. Went to Warsaw in 1931 to prepare the passports. Chava said to her mother Feige to come with them, as they were very close. The people would tell Feige not to go to a non-jewish country... During the Civil War in Costa Rica (1949) Pepe Figueres came and took their new Buick. As Yaakov Pinchas' house in Cartago had a basement, Julio and family came to stay at their house to protect themselves from the firing. Yaakov Pinchas and Julio were taken to jail. (Perla Aizenman) Was taken to the Mayo Clinic for treatment of his lung cancer. They began surgery, but decided there was nothing to do, and he went back to Panama where he died.
