  It is possible from a partial passenger list that Robert may have had a son/brother James who may have accompanied Robert to the US but this has yet to be verified, possibly around 1865.

  General Valuation of Rateable Property in Ireland, Union of Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, publ. 1857 n the General Valuation compiled in August and September of 1856 Robert Heffernan is listed as a tenant of a house and yard in the town of Hollymount.
  The Kilcommon and Robeen Catholic registers of Baptism (which commence in 1857) include the following Baptisms of children of Hubert Hevernan and Bridget Murphy:
  James Hefron, baptised 19 Jan 1861 (sponsors: Thomas Turreyman and Catherine Moran, stipend: 2/8)
  Catherine Hevernan, baptised 5 Dec 1864 ( sponsors: P. Conelly and M. Walsh, stipend: 2/6)
  Civil records of Births, which commenced in 1864 record one relevant birth record:
  Catherine Hevernan, born 27 November 1864 at Hollymount (fathers occupation: labourer).
  Also residing in Hollymount was Michael Heveran, a coachman, who died 25 Apr 1878 aged 73 years. This man appears on the Lindsey Rental of 1848 as residing in Hollymount and on the General Valuation of 1856 as the holder of a house, office and small garden in the town of Hollymount. An 'office' in the context of the General Valuation is any building that is not a dwelling house and usually donates a byre, shed or horse-stable. His window Rose Heveran, died 22 Mar 1890 aged 86 years.
  Apart from the fact that Michael and Robert/Hubert reside in the same town, there is no evidence of a relationship between the families.

 Close to Hollymount, in the townland of Bloomfield a Patrick Hefferan, a nailor, died 19 Oct. 1879.
