Weeks.O'Connor The marriage of Miss Katherine O'Connor of Brattleboro and Francis George Weeks of West Springfield, Mass. took place in St. Michael's Roman Catholic church Wednesday morning. Rev. Patrick Cunningham officiating. The ring service was used and the ceremony was performed at 9 o'clock . A large number of the bride's friends were present. Laurel and ferns in abundance were used in decorating the church by the young women friends of the bride who have sung with her in the church choir several years. The bridal party consisted of the bridegroom and bridesmaid, Miss Zeta Ryan of Brattleboro, followed by the Bride and the best man, Philip Powers of West Springfield. The bride wore a tan colored traveling suit and carried an amethyst rosary. The bridesmaid's dress also was tan colored. As the party entered the church the bridal march from Lohengrin was played by Miss Mary Martin. The marriage ceremony was followed by mass, with singing by the choir and an "Ave Maria " by Joseph Martin. Mendelsshons's wedding march was played by Miss Martin as the party left the church. After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the bride's home amid decorations of laurel, ferns and cut flowers. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Weeks went to Boston on a wedding trip They will return to Brattleboro next tuesday and in the evening a reception will be held at the bride's home at 8 o'clock for invited guests. Mrs Weeks is a daughter of Mr and Mrs John J O'Connor of 40 Clark st. She is a graduate of the Parochial and North street schools and for several years has been a soprano singer in the Roman Catholic church choir. She is one of the prominent soloists of Brattleboro and is a member of the St Cecelia Alter Society. Mr. Weeks is a son of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. E. Weeks of West Springfield. For a number of years he has been employed in the Springfield armory, but has given up that position to remain in Brattleboro. They received a large number of handsome wedding gifts. F. M. E. Weeks and daughter, Susan, were among the wedding guests. ______________________________ Brattleboro Reformer Dec 15, 1965 Obituary Mrs. Frank G. Weeks Mrs. Katherine (O'Connor) Weeks, 87, of 29 Harris Place, formerly a well- known singer, died yesterday in Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Frank G. Weeks. A Solemn High Mass of Requiem will be celebrated in St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church Friday morning at 10. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fleming Funeral Home tomorrow from 3-5 and 7-9 pm Members of Ave Marie Circle. Daughters of Isabella, of which she was a member, will recite the Rosary tomorrow evening at 7:30. Members of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary will join in recitation of the Parish Rosary at 8. Mrs. Weeks was born in Brattleboro Aug. 22, 1878, daughter of John and Mary (Heffron) O'Connor. She studied voice here with the late Lucien Howe and in New York City. For many years she was a member of the choir of St Michael's Church. After her marriage, while residing with her husband in Agawam and Springfield, Mass., she sang at the Catholic cathedral in Springfield. Mr. and Mrs. Weeks later lived in Greenfield and moved here from Bernardston a few years before his death in 1962. Mrs. Weeks is survived by one brother, George F. O'Connor of New Smyrna Beach, Fla; one niece and one nephew.
