Note: From an unknown and undated newspaper clipping: 'Rites Held Saturday for Bernard Phillips - Bernard Phillips, 60, a barber at Roxton since 1926, died Friday, May 12, 1967, in St Josephs Hospital, Paris, where he had been a patient for two weeks. He was born at Roxton, Feb. 16, 1907, son of C. C. and Ella (Reeder) Phillips, and married Miss Francyle Routt of Ladonia, Dec. 17, 1938. The funeral, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, was in the First Baptist Church of Roxton with the pastor, the Rev. George Steel and the Rev. J. L. Widemon and the Rev. Tim Walker as officiants. Masonic graveside rites and interment was in the Presbyterian Cemetery of Ladonia. Mr. Phillips survivors include his wife; a sister, Mrs Hoyle Moore and a nephew, Phillip Moore, both of Roxton. He attended Roxton schools and a barber college. A member of the Baptist Church, he was a former Sunday School Superintendent of the Roxton Baptist Church. He was a member and past master of the Roxton masonic Lodge, Paris Eastern Star Chapter No. 5, Hella Temple, Dallas and Red River Valley Shrine Association, having served as a Masonic district deputy last year.'
