  From an unnamed and undated article located in the Lamar County Genealogical Society Library, in the Taylor Collection, Box P: 'Francyle Routt Phillips, 72, 335 W. Washington, died at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, July 29, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Semple officiating. Burial will be in the Ladonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Phillips was born Oct. 20, 1915, in Pecan Gap, a daughter of Otis W. and Cora Maines Routt. She attended Pecan Gap schools, East Texas State University and was a graduate of the Sanitarium of Paris Nursing School in 1936. She married Bernard R. Phillips on Dec. 17, 1938, in Ladonia. He died May 12, 1967. She had served as a Lamar County school nurse for 19 years before retiring in 1980. She had also done nursing at McCuistion Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a member of the Baptist Church, former member of the Paris Business and Professional Women's Club and Texas State Teachers Association, American Nurses association, Texas Nurses Association and the District 13 Nurses Association. Surviving are a number of cousins, including Jack Routt of Ladonia.'[phillips.FTW]
