a. Note:   Andrew was an early sheriff of the Watauga Settlement. The first Jail was built on his farm at Taylortown. Andrew Taylor Jr enlisted on Buffalo Creek in Washington, North Carolina, in the fall of 1780. He served three months as a private under Captain McNabb in Colonel John Seiver's Regiment. He served three months under Captain Christopher Taylor in Colonel John Seivers company. Andrew served three months as an Indian Spy in The Fall of 1781, under Captain Abraham Denton All of Andrew's services were in Indian expeditions, during which he was in several skirmishes. Andrew Taylor was allowed pension on his application executed 15 August 1832, at which time he was sixty- seven years of age, and a resident of Carter County, Tennessee. His pension, in part, read: ANDREW TAYLOR Certificate #1819 Issued 12 November 1832 Rate: $30.00 per. annum commenced 4 March 1831 Act of June 1832. Andrew Taylor and Isabella McNabb are buried in Taylortown, not referred to as Central Community. The grave markers of Andrew, Isabella, and daughter Mary Daniel, and her husband Noah Daniel, are easily identfied.
