Note: SEE 1980 CENSUS CD, ED-159/PAGE 505 Joshua Stapp's History Joshua lived and married in Middle, Tn, but got tired of living there and move through Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, missouri and Arkansas before arriving at Andice, in Williamson County, Texas. He purchase 369 acres for 50 cents a acre from Winslow Turner. In those days Ben said that their were Buffalo carcasses but no live Buffalo. The Indians would come to their home and ask for food. There were no Indian fights in Williamson County, but some did occur in Burnet County. In 1871 Joshua sold 61 acres of his land for $237.50. Ion September 4, 1871, he sold Dotson Skaggs, his son-in-law, 184 &1/2 acres keeping only 7 acres for his own use. On February 22, 1904 he deeded to his daughter, Mattie Adams, 135 acres which she sold to C. M. Stapp in 1917 for $2800.00. On June 30, 1923 135 acres was deeded from Joshua M. Stapp and wife to C. M. Stapp.
