Note: Jim never completed grade school. His parents decided which of the children would continue with their education and which of the children would go to work to support the family. Before he quit school he attended St. Agnes Parish Grade School. This is where he met Louis (Bud) Mcevoy. Bud was to be his brother in law in the future. Bud's sister was Mary Eileen Mc Evoy. Jim had mentioned that the Rosse family, at one time, lived near the Sarpy-Douglas county line which would be At Harrison near 36Th St. They also lived near 26th or 27th and Q Street. It was at this time that the Greek Riots took place in that neighborhood. A large group of South Omaha hoodlums succeeded in terrorizing members of the Greek community in South Omaha. Businesses were burned and delivery horses owned by Greek merchants were killed. It is not known if there was any loss of human life. Jim went to work after he had completed the 7th grade. When he went to work his father who was a telegrapher for Armour Packing Co. was able to get him a job with that Company in the office. When the depression came Jim went from an office job to some very physicaly demanding jobs such as section hannd with the UPRR, Cargill grain elevators and
