Note: According to the Venango, Pennsylvania web site, he was a native of Ireland, and came to Luzerne County, Pa., and then to Irwin Township prior to 1800; It also says he had 6 children: William, John, Michael, Charles, Sarah and Mary. Need to research this further: In June, 1790 a number of catholic families residing near Lough Eme in County Donegal, sailed from Londonderry on the brig Eliza for the new world, and in Sept. of that year landed at New Castle on the Delaware River, just short of Philadelphia. There is mention of Edward McFadden (an owner of the Black Horse Tavern) and his son Edward Jr. being part of this group. However, there is also information that that the McFaddens were members of the Peters Chapel-Methodist church in 1845 in Venango County, PA.
