 He was a soldier and a farmer. Capt during the Rev War. He marched 65 men from woolwich to Boston in 1777 stopping by the Nequasset Cong. Church for Prayers. Cap John Bailey probably received his tract of land in Woolwich as a recompense for his service in the war. It extended from Montsweag Bay to near Nequasset Stream. John had cattle marks registered in Woolwich as early as June 27, 1761.
