 Rev. James was a school teacher in Andover, 1st pastor of 2nd Congregational Church of Weymouth, Mass for 43 years. Ordained Sept 26, 1723 He graduated from Harvard in 1719. James serves his 1st and only Pastorate in Weymouth. His salary was 76 pounds/yr and a settlement of 130 pounds. He was greatly loved by his people and held in high esteem by neighboring parishes. His labors were greatly blessed. During the Great Revival 1737 - 1740 great numbers joined the church. April 1740 no less than 45 adults were taken into full communion.
