Note: Russell Lewis Dyer - Obituary Russell Lewis Dyer was born October 14, 1905 in rural Douglas County,Kansas. He was the son of Albert Henry and Maude Elsie (Ferguson) Dyer.A lifelong resident of the Douglas / Franklin County area north ofOttawa, Russell made his home there until his death August 06, 1996, atRichmond, at the age of ninety years. After attending Excelsior Grade School, Russell stayed on the family farmand was a lifelong farmer and stockman, retiring in 1970. Russell was a 50 year member of Modern Woodmen of America. On May 07, 1936, Russell was united in marriage with Helen Irene Suttonat Garnett. She survives and makes her home at Richmond. Also survivingare two sons, Lane D. Dyer of Topeka and Dale L. Dyer and his wife Elaineof Ottawa; two brothers, Ralph J. Dyer of Richmond and Leland W. Dyer ofOttawa, a sister, Frances A. Stewart of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maude E. Dyer in 1981.
