a. Note:   Robert Dyer was said to have suffered injuries in a fight in Ottawa,Kansas. The injuries which were suffered to the head was thought to haveled to his developing Parkinson's Disease.
  Robert never married, however, was engaged to Helen (Thomas) Lyons whowas a long time family friend. Robert and Helen would often take hisnephew Robert for rides in his Model A Ford automobile before his deathin 1948.
  The following article appeared in the Fox Hunter's Magazine and was mostprobably written by Robert's close friend, Earl Kirker.
  Long-time friends testify that Bob Dyer through all his ten years ofaffliction maintained a wholesome and optimistic philosophy of life.Complaints were given no place in his out-look. He was ever charitabletoward his fellow men in their weaknesses and shortcomings. He practisedthe wise and kindly maxim of remaining silent when good could not be saidtruthfully. Bob was one of those admirable persons who are able tobenefit even from illness. He spent much of his time in wide reading andthought, whereby he gained insights that fitted him to be counselor andfriend to relatives and acquaintances.
