Note: John M. Dyer was born in the state of New York in 1837, nearly threeyears after his parents John and Bridget Dyer left Ireland. He movedwith his family, settling a track of wild land near what is nowMilwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1840 at the age of three. In 1857, at the ageof twenty, he again moved with his parents to the new frontier land inWillow Springs Township, Douglas Cty., Kansas where he homesteaded a farmuntil his death in 1919 at the age of 82 years. The Pomona Weekly Republican contains an obituary for John, newspaperdated 23 Jan 1919, and Mary, newspaper dated 17 Nov 1921. They were bothburied in Lebo, Kansas. John's obituary is on microfilm P1003 availablethrough the lending library. The death dates for both John and Mary arenoted as the newspaper date of the obituary and should be revised whenthe dates are determined.
