  In 1788, Susannah Rose Carpenter's grandmother Deborah Barlow Rose, took as her 2nd husband, Aaron Spelman. He was the brother of Daniel Spelman who married Mary Carpenter in Providence , June 1780 (daughter of Jacob, son of Silas, 1681 - 1751). They settled in Providence, RI, Mary’s home Her father was 1st cousin to Thomas Carpenter, father of Amos. Aaron's brother,Timothy was one of the prime movers in emigrating from Granville, Mass. to Granville, Ohio, about 1805. My Amos Carpenter lived in the same town and migrating with them to Ohio. He and Susannah married after they all moved to Ohio, but he would have known her in Massachusetts.
