She was recipient in his will. After that, sources show: 1900 census for Dade County, Florida, shows her there, with all her children, except Van, living with her, and all single. Newspaper obituary called her a "Pioneer Miami Woman", "Coconut Grove Pioneer", leader of civic activities in Coconut Grove, came to Miami from Columbus, Ohio, after her husband died in 1899. She built a home (named Banyan Bluff) on Bayshore Road, Coconut Grove, south of Miami, and was active in community life. Many mentions in society columns of Miami, FL papers. 1910 census shows she lived with her 3 unwed daughters, 36, 33, 31, had a black servant named Rosa Glass, 24, from the Bahamas. Death certificate states that at death she lived at 59 SE 6th St,, Miami. Her will mentions my father, his brother and my grandmother. Accounts of her move to Florida were given in obituaries of her children.
