Note: N2312 There is no evidence that this William was the son of Thornton. It does appear that he is related, and may have been a nephew. I am placing him here just for research purposes, hoping somebody will know him and get in touch with me. He was found in the 1880 Walton Co., FL census, p. 485A, HH # 208, next door to his son, John. He was also the father of John and Samuel Fowler, who were living on each side of John and Lucy Ann Kelly, and James and Mary Kelly, shown by the 1885 Walton Co., FL, state census. This would have been the Laurel Hill area. Knowing that John Kelly was the son of Elizabeth Fowler Kelly, it is too much of a coincidence to believe that they were not related to these Fowlers. James Kelly in 1885 is NOT the brother of John, so he isn’t a child of Elizabeth and David. Jacob Kelly had many James’ in his family, and this is most likely a grandson of Jacob Kelly.Are all these 1885 Kellys and Fowlers 1st cousins, and grandchildren of Thornton and Nancy Kelly Fowler and her brother, Jacob Kelly? I believe so The Okaloosa Co. Cemetery Book shows that William’s birthday was 1813. However, a much earlier book shows that it was 1819. That is closer to the 1820 date, which matches the census. 1885 Walton Co., AL census, Yellow River pcnt: 32.
