  1900 census, Santa Rosa Co., Florida, pct. 1, p. 118, HH#206: Daniel Walder, and said his father was from Germany. Day laborer, could not read or write, but his wife and children could. He was born July 1662 and was 37, wife Samantha July 1875 and was 24, Children named were son Henry b. Apr.1881 and was 19, daughter Hulda b. May1884 and was 16, son Arlie b. May 1886 and was 14, son Frank b. Jan. 1892 and was 8, son Joseph Mar. 1896 and was 4, and daughter Mary E. May 1900 was was newborn, all born in Florida and carried the father’s name.. Samantha reported that she had birthed 5 children, with 3 living. This census reported they were married 6 years.
  1910 census, Santa Rosa Co., Florida. Pea Ridge Precinct, p. 138a, HH#1: Daniel Walther 50, laborer, could not read or write, married 12 years, Samantha 30, had given birth to 5, but just 4 living. The children, all Walthers, were Wade J. 11, Mary E. 9, George 6, Annie 6. Samantha reported she had 5 children but only 4 lived. The census reported they had been married 12 years and that he had 2 marriages, and she had just 1.
