a. Note:   N184 Del's birth and death dates and places were taken from internment record and obituary. Cause of death was pericarditis. He was listed in some of the Columbus City directories, along with his father. In 1896 he was shown to be a travel agent. 1900 census for Dade Co. shows him to be a solicitor for a fruit grove. Wholesale grocer He was found living with his mother in 1899-1900, but returned to Ohio by 1910. 1920 federal census for Del Carpenter household, Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, Enumeration District 107, page 6A, dwelling 123, family 123. In 1920, Del and Kate were living 721 South Champion Ave., Columbus area, Franklin County, Ohio, where Del was enumerated as a farmer.2976 Also in the household in 1920 were Harold Schrock, born circa 1892 in Ohio, step-son, listed as a clerk in an iron company; and Eugene B. Schrock, born circa 1902 in Ohio, step-son, listed as a draftsman for an elevator company. He returned to Miami and remained until 1925 when once again her returned to Ohio, where he died in 1937. His obituary reported that he was a 32-degree Mason, as was his father.
