  Obituary: Wilfred Albert Allen, 95, just 24 days shy of his 96th birthday, a longtime Merrimac resident, passed peacefully Saturday night at Hannah Duston Nursing Home, Haverhill, with his family at his side. He was the husband of 65 years of the late Angele Marcelle (Debout) Allen, who passed Oct. 2, 2009. Born in Haverhill Dec. 27, 1920, he was one of three children of the late Caleb H. and Bernice M. (Williams) Allen and was a graduate of Haverhill High School. Allen was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Army from Sept. 3, 1942 until his honorable discharge Jan. 12, 1946, having served in Northern France. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Medal the American Theater Campaign Ribbon and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. He worked at Western Electric as a cable former, retiring after many years of employment. His survivors include his son, Harry R. Allen of Haverhill; two grandsons, David Allen and Christopher Allen; great-grandson, Nathan Christopher Allen; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. By request of the family, a private graveside service takes place at Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main St., Merrimac.
