Note: 1977 Robert R. Bitterling A rural Kewanna man became Fulton county's third traffic accident victim of 1977 when he was killed in a one-car accident at 7:15 p.m. Friday on county Road 250 South, two miles west of County Road 1000 West. Robert R. BITTERLING, 29, R.R. 3, Kewanna, was pronounced dead on arrival at Pulaski County Memorial hospital from massive skull injuries suffered when his car struck a utility pole head-on and flipped over. County police said from tracks left in the grass along the road, it appears the auto, which was westbound on County Road 250 South, went off the north side of the road once and traveled 38 feet, came back onto the road, then left the road again and ran through a fence before striking the utility pole. The auto flipped over and came to rest 50 feet from the pole. Police, who are still investigating the accident, said from all indications she car appears to have been traveling at an excessive speed. Robert R. BITTERLING was born June 20, 1947 in Winamac to Ralph and Helen CONN BITTERLING. He was married August 3, 1968 in Kewanna to Connie LONG; she survives. Mr. Bitterling was a brakeman with the Norfolk and Western railroad. He had been a barber for three years in Peoria, Ill.
