  --Source of information: Marcia Singer <SingerMC@@dragonbbs.com>; Several years ago I found out that Sarah's parents David and Mary Haldeman were buried in North Union Cemetery in Elkhart County, Indiana. According to the tombstones, David died 23 October 1873 @@51 years. Mary is buried in the same cemetery and her tombstone says that se died 26 December 1887 @@ 67-10-28. This cemetery is located 1 mile south of Wakarusa and 1 1/2 miles west of County Road 42.

This is an excerpt from pages 18-19: Two, with their families, moved to Elkhart County, Indiana, around 1848. One of these was their second daughter, Maria, who married David Holderman. Maria and David's oldest son, Jacob, married Catherine Kulp of Holmes County, first cousin of Maria's. Jacob was drafted in the Civil War and served nine months in the army. He became deaf in the service and later received a pension of $22. a month. They were Monnonites and lived at Osceola, Indiana.
