Note: try near Rosetta, Mississippi when Anna Belle and CC Phipps moved out there. He stayed in Natchez and became an excellent football player lettering all four years at Natchez High School. He went to Cophia-Lincoln Junior College until World War II when he joined the Marines. He was soon discharged from the Marines on a Medical discharge because of his hurt knee from football. He didn't go back to college. In 1944 he got married and spend the next 20 years at various jobs, most notably with Texas oil companies as a surveyor for seismic crews. In the early sixties he brought his family back to Natchez to stay continuing to work various types of jobs to "put food on the table." He had worked as a car salesman, cashier, store manager, sports center manager, newspaper deliveries and others as the years passed. After he retired he moved to a piece of property in Fenwick, Mississippi which he had inherited from his Aunt Mae (Mahoney) Barker. He lived there until he died of kidney failure in 1999.
