Notes
a. Note:   Traveled to Izard County, Arkansas about 1844, and then on to Erath County, then Coryell County, Texas. The 1860 census of Erath County did not list Martha living at home with her family so she must have married by that time. Source: Wanda Cunningham
After her husband, William Abijah Hardin's death, Martha York lived with her son, Lafayette Lee Hardin and his wife Fannie. They moved to the Imperial Valley, California to farm. Willie and Will Dubose went with them. When she died, Lafayette brought her body back to Hunt, Texas by train for burial.
Melburn Hardin has a copy of her death certificate.
Following facts and conclusions are furnished by Doris Williams:
"Martha married William Hardin in Carroll County, AR in 1856. John York does not list a daughter, Martha as a child in the census of 1860.
