" On Tuesday, May 4, 1914, Mrs. Bridget Keefe departed this life of 82 years and 5 months. The deceased, whose maiden name was Burke, a daughter of Thomas Burke and Catherine McCarthy, was born in Ireland, but came to this country as a small child. The family settled in the adjoining town of Clinton about 70 years ago in April 1853. The deceased was united in marriage to Jeremiah Keefe, whose death preceded her by 7 years. Mrs. Keefe was a woman who possessed many virtues. She was a faithful wife, a loving and devoted mother, an excellent housewife, a kind and thoughtful neighbor, a trusted friend and best of all a devout and earnest Christian. To truly appreciate Mrs. Keefe it was necessary to know her in her own home. She never tired of doing acts of kindness and was generous at all times. Since the death of her husband, and the infirmities of advancing years, Mrs. Keefe gave up the work of which she was most devoted, and for the past few years of her life has been a life of prayer, one of the great channels of grace as taught by our Great Redeemer.
Mrs. Keefe leaves to mourn her loss, 5 sons and 3 daughters. Namely, Thomas of Burlington, VT.,Charles, Daniel W. and William of Chateaugay, and James Keefe of Butte, Montana, Mrs Mary * Bracy of Rouses Point,NY, Mrs Emma Jones and and Mrs Annie Carey of Chateaugay, NY. She also had 3 brothers and one sister to survive her. Thomas Burke of South Dakota, William Burke of Iowa, Richard of Plattsburg and Mrs. Mary McNierney of Chateaugay.
The funeral will be held Friday morning at 10:00 AM with a requiem High Mass, She will be buried in St. Patricks Cemetery in Chateaugay, NY."
