  OBITUARY
 Veblen Pioneer Lady Died Last Thursday
  Mrs. Helen Myhre was born June 29, 1867 of parents Mr. and Mrs. Ole Evenson in Solor, Norway and passed away at her home in Veben Thursday afternoon, April 22, 1937 at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 22 days.
 When she was 3 years of age her parents moved to America and located at Lake Mills, Iowa and at this place Mrs. Myhre grew to woman-hood. On November 13, 1884 she was united in Marriage to Peter Myhre in Buffalo county, South Dakota. And to this union ten children were born. In 1890 they moved to Rock county, Minnesota where they lived for 12 years and in 1901 they moved to Marshall county, South Dakota, whre theey located on a farm 6 1/2 miles northwest of Veben. They later moved to Veblen where Mrs. Myhre has since made her home.
 Mrs. Myhre leaves to mourn her passing nine children, one child and her husband proceeding her in death. She also leaves two sisters and three brothers. The children are as follows: Olaf and Carl of this city; Henry Myhre, Glenwood, Minnesota; Mrs. Emma Appel, Juron, S.D.; Lewis Myhre, Hillhead, S.D.; Mrs. Rueben Puphal, Madison, Wisconsin; Mrs. Harry Haagenson, Veblen, S.D.; Mrs. Jake Haagenson, Veblen, S.D.; and Mrs. Clyde Sargent, Hillhead, South Dakota. The two sisters are: Mrs. Adolph Tyler, St. Lawrence, S.D. The three brothers are: John Evenson, Hulet, Wyoming and Oscar Evenson of Fruitdale, S.D.
 Funeral services were held from the home at 1:30 p.m. and at the Veblen Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 28 with Reverend Bratlie conducting the services. At the home the services opened with Rev. Bratlie reading from Revelation 7, 1:19. Audience then sang "Rock of Ages Cleft For Me". Services at the church opened with Rev. Bratlie reading the ritual. The Quartette consisting of Mrs. O. Quammen, Altha Risdall, John Heglie an Rev. Bratlie, sang "O So Be To the Rock That Is Higher Than I". Funeral sermon test was taken from Psalm 116 verse 7, "Return O My Soul to Thy Rest, For Johova Has Dealt Bountifully With Thee." The Quartette then sang, "When Peace Like a River." And in closing the Quartette again sang, "Abide With Me." Interment was made in the cemetery north of Veblen. Many gifts were given in Memoriam to the deceased.
