Notes
a. Note:   REFN: 12 Article in Maine Life - Issue October, 1973
The article is a short biographical sketch of one Daniel Wilson
Carter, who was brought up on Mosquito Island, near Port Clyde. To Quote: His sister, Mrs. Laura Thomas of Camden, still has a
Bible given to her and her sister Edith by Capt. Daniel Morang
(sic) of the Schooner Pacific of Calais, Maine. The schooner
was wrecked on Mosquito Island in a snowstorm, Feb. 11, 1892,
at 5:30pm. There are the words "all night" on one page and
"Daniel Morang- Dennysville, Maine - where about all of the crew belongs." There were three ships wrecked on Mosquito
Island; one for each year they lived there.
