Note: ed 8 August 1962. This document identifies his birthplace as Calciano in the province of Matera (*contradicting oral history from spouse). Arrived USA 14 February 1917. A USA certificate of citizenship dated 4 March 1941 printed his name as Vincenzi Sabella (accompanying signature confirms this spelling). He was a steelworker by trade and grew a large vegetable garden in a vacant lot across the street from his home.
