Note: REFN7 Dora Alverta Shelton was born 8 Feb 1882 in Beaver Dam, Box Elder,Uta h. and was blessed by Frank (Francillo) Durfee, Sr. II and was baptized by Almer Loveland, and confirmed by Bishop George Dewey. (This Francillo was the son of Cynthia and Francillo) At this time the Be aver Dam Ward was a Branch of the Deweyville Ward. Her schooling commenced at Beaver Dam, at the age of 6 years. She married John and they lived for a short time with her parent s. They moved to Fielding, Utah in December of 1905; Leah was born in Fi elding. They lived in Garland from 1905 until 1909; Henry, Wanda, and Afton , twins were born in Garland. In 1908 with four children, they moved to Gwen ford, Idaho for a short time. Orpha was born in Malad. Ila was born whil e they lived in Pleasant View, on the outskirts of Malad. John was working f or Joe Isaacson, and he furnished a house for them to live in. Dean cam e along while they lived in Joe's home. John had four brothers and they were all good builders and the y all moved together. You will find them all in the same town at the sam e time. Uncle Rast (Rasmus) Larsen was the foreman and the contractor for the building jobs and his brothers went where he found the work f or them. Dora was born while they lived in Honeyville, Utah. John's parent s also had lived there for many years. Dick found work for his father-in-la w there. Daughter Leah had married by now and she and her husband moved t o Magna, Utah, where Dick found work in the Smelters there. John and Dora packed up their five youngest children and moved t o Magna. Henry, and Wanda had found employment and did not make the move wit h their parents to Magna, Utah.. Twin daughter, Afton had died when 11 year s old of a fever while they lived in Pleasant View, Idaho. and was buried in Ple asant View. Dick and Leah had a daughter, Marie, in 1922, and another daughte r, June, in 1924. June was three months older than Leah's baby sister, who wa s also born in Magna, in 1924. Elma May was the last child to join the John Lars en family. They all moved to Deweyville in 1928. John and Dick found far m work to do. John's entire life was one of moving from one place to another. Go where the work was, in order to feed his family. John was a hand y man and always seemed to have something to do. He dug ditches, wells , handled horses and cows, sheep, built houses, barns, and chicken coops. He was a happy man and always whistled and sang as he worked . Dora had a hard life, but a happy one. They never had luxuries, but they ha d a roof over their head and clothes on their back. Dora outlived John by 16 years and she lived with her daughters . Obit: Funeral services for Dora Alverta Shelton Larsen, who died Jun e 29th, in Salt Lake City, were conducted Monday at Pleasantview ward chape l with Bishop Leo Brown officiating. Invocation was offered by Jerry D. Wheat with V.D. Justesen giving the obituary. Speakers were Joseph Ward, J r, and Thomas Thorpe, with remarks by Bishop Brown. Vocal duet by June Crowther and Norma Gleed with Mary Gleed as accompanist; vocal solo, carol Eliasen, accompanied by Iris Barker. B enidiction was given by Wallace Smith and dedicatory prayer was offered by Elwoo d Penrose. Casket bearers were James L. Timmons, John Timmons, Dee Justesen, Low ell Penrose, Kenneth Maier, and Herman Bott, Jr. Mrs Larsen, 80, was born Feb 8 1882 at Beaver Dam, Box Elder, Uta h.
