Note: REFN60 The Findley family arrived in Mendon in the fall of 1859. Mendon was called Maughan's Fort in August 1859. Findley assited in cutting wood in Paridise Canyon for the r ailwoad . They hauled the logs to Ogden. Mendon had a severe winter in 1873 and 187 4; and again in 1879. It was hard on the people trying to settle there.
