Clarence was quartermaster, or finance officer, with the American Legion post here and was on the board of directors for both the county American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations for the past thirty-five years.
A retired Restone Arnsnal employee Clarence was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Athens.
