a. Note:   Owen took in his nephews, William Henry "Bill" and James Taylor "Tade" Thornberry and raised them as his own after their father died and then their Mother also died. Something had happened to Taylor, they thought it may have been meningitis, and he was never quite right. He never married and lived with Owen and then Owen oldest living sonm, Hiram, and/or his wife, "Carrie" for the rest of his life. After their Mother died, Owen "went down to Mulberry to pick them up" and bring them back to his home on Greasy Creek.
