Note: 1/26/1944 To Mrs. Joe Galichia, from Pvt. Paul J. Galichia, 3 General Hospital, New York, NY, "Dear Sis I am sorry that I havent written sooner but after all I have been through I guess you will look over it all as it has been pretty tough for me in the past few months. I am in a pretty good hosp. here and my leg is a little better. I have a whole about 3 by 4 inch in my right hip but dont tell mom what I said about how big it is as she doesnt need to know and dont you worry either for their is no bones broken. Well now how is my little man getting along by this time. I would really like to see him and have him for company while I am in here. Is Joe still ok and making out the cold weather. Tell him to write once in a while. I must close. Good bye. As ever your brother Love Paul." (Sharon says that Uncle Bud...or Paul...called Natalie "sis" and that the "little man" he referrs to is Jody, who would have been just short of two when this was written.)
