a. Note:   !Notes from original Diebel History-printed 1936---"In 1847, he emigrated to Canada and settled in North Dumfries. he worked at
 cooper trade a few years. In 1852 married Elizabeth Schneider, he
 then rented a farm in Woolwich Twp. living there for a few years and
 later moved to Wilmotw near philipsburg, where he rented a farm for
 six years; he then bought a farm just across from the last mentioned
 farm, living there for several years.he then exchanged his farm for
 a 350 acre farm on the Oberstrass, about 4 miles north east from
 Philipsburg, where he lived 35 or 40 years. This was in 1870, and in
 1871 his wife died. In August, 1873, he sold his farm and lived with
 his daughter, Mrs Koch, one mile north of Philipsburg. His second
 wife had died then. (Actually he was just married the second time in
 1873). There are no dates to hand. From his first wife, he had 3
 children. They are as follows----"

 Gutberlet, farmer. Married Maria Koen (spelling) 25, born and lived
 Wilmot Twp. Daughter of John Koen, and margaretha Schaefer. married
 Aug 24 1873 at bridegroom's residence, by John Stump, minister of
 the Baptist Church. Witnessed by Val;entine Wilhelm, and Adam Diebel
 of Wilmot Twp.
 GS:1862887 Reg #041 094 Peter Diebel, 95 died Mar 6 1918. Born
 Germany, gentleman, widower, parents unknown. C/D Cardiac Failure.
 Dr William Gillespie attended. Informant Andrew Axt, Baden, Mar 7
 1918.
 NOTE--see copy of travel visa dated 1848, allowing Peter to travel
 from Niederjossa to Bremen Harbour, to Emigrate to canada. The
