a. Note:   !Notes from KALBFLEISCH Family History, found at KPL, Kitchener. Born in Germany. In 1848, at the age of 16 (about 1847/48), he came
 to Canada and lived in Dumfries with Daniel Knechtel, and worked at
 the cooper trade. He then rented a 200 acre farm near Waterloo for
 about ten years. Next he went to Wilmot and bought a farm of 58
 acres from his brother Peter. There he lived until 1878, when he
 bought a farm of 140 acres near Chesley, where he lived until 1894
 when he sold that farm and moved to Elmwood. He died there in 1909.
 He was married to Louisa Kalbfleisch and their union was blessed
 with eight children. A family Bible had been in the care of their
 grandson, Adam Diebel, but its whereabouts today (1998) is unknown.
